About the Artist

I'm Shields. From a long line of painters, I have created acrylic art for some time. I'm fairly new to watercolor and nutcrackers. 

I choose to paint things that capture my attention, mostly things of the natural world. A beautiful bird, a blooming flower, cucumbers in the garden, or an intricate seashell all hold a certain fascination for me. 

I am a native North Carolinian and I believe my art has a southern flair.
